10th Annual Fire and Emergency Services Higher Education Conference
May 31–June 2, 2008 in Emmitsburg, Maryland
Every year, the U.S. Fire Administration hosts the Fire and Emergency Services Higher Education conference on its campus in Emmitsburg, Maryland. Representatives from fire-related degree programs, state and local fire service training agencies, and national fire service organizations are eligible to attend the 3-day conference. Significant products often result from the group work done by participants at these conferences and from the presentations they feature by national leaders and experts. Participation is by invitation only to those in the target audiences.

September 11, 2007, marked the sixth anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the United States. In honor of the lives lost and affected on that day, the Counter-Terrorism Web site has prepared a list of links that help commemorate those who fell and honor those who helped others.

This is a 40-hour seminar designed to train law enforcement and other professionals to recognize and identify deviant groups and movements. It is a multifaceted course, with particular attention paid toward counter-terrorism, homeland security, anti-American activities, and movements with philosophies that may alienate their practitioners from mainstream Americans.
