This conference, designed by the Texas School Safety Center, focuses on timely and relevant topics including emergency operations planning, active shooter tactical response, homeland security and your campus, gang awareness and intervention, dating violence, incident command systems, and current drug trends.
2010 Chemical Sector Security Summit
July 7–8, 2010 in Baltimore, Maryland
This event will provide a forum for attendees to exchange information and network with other security professionals, as well as the opportunity to ask specific questions about the Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards (CFATS) and to gain insight into the roles of different agencies and departments involved in chemical security.
2010 ESRI Homeland Security GIS Summit
July 10–13, 2010 in San Diego, California
The Environmental Systems Research Institute sponsors this conference dedicated to geographic information system (GIS) technology and homeland security. This event will focus on data fusion centers and on GIS applications designed for specific public safety needs (e.g., policing, disaster management, homeland security). Technical workshops and a hands-on learning lab will provide practical knowledge for participants. Federal agencies will explain their GIS work, and moderated sessions will allow users to share their papers, applications, workflows, best practices, and lessons learned.
NCSL 2010 Legislative Summit—National Conference of State Legislatures
July 25–28, 2010 in Louisville, Kentucky
This event will feature general sessions to address the needs of legislators and their staff on issues such as the economy, education, and the federal government; forums dedicated to concerns such as innovation and crisis leadership; and training sessions to improve legislative skills.

2010 International Terrorism and Organized Crime Conference
August 2–6, 2010 in Anaheim, California
This conference, comprising lectures, presentations, and handout materials from internationally and nationally recognized experts, will provide updated information on terrorism and organized crime investigations and on gangs and other criminal groups. Attendees from all levels of law enforcement, including street officers, detectives, educators, and administrators, will learn how to handle these types of investigations, as well as how to combat these types of crime.
35th Annual COMSEC Managers' Conference
August 9–12, 2010 in Baltimore, Maryland
This communications security (COMSEC) event is designed for U.S. government contractors, members of the National Security Agency, and U.S. government agency COMSEC custodians, alternate custodians, managers, and facility security officers. The conference provides an excellent forum for exchanging information about evolving national information assurance policy for industry and government, and includes initial or refresher training for COMSEC custodians or alternates.
